I still remember the day I found out how old Bill was. Bill, Scott, and Ed Bradley were about to embark on the first of their adventures as The Tres Amigos. As I recall, Scott was on a layover in Chicago and was expediting Bill’s visa, and in the process he saw Bill’s age in print. (Bill was still in his 50’s at the time, but as 30-somethings, we had to wonder if he was fit enough for the journey. We had just assumed he was the same age as the rest of us. He certainly looked it. Let me just say he was more than fit!) At heart, Bill was the youngest person I have ever known – always up for anything, and always laughing, even at his own expense. I loved the impish expression on his face when he knew he was in trouble. He was blessed to have a wife who by all appearances had the patience of a saint! I am the proud owner of many pieces of his pottery, and I use at least one of them every day. Many of my friends in LaGrange also own and love his pieces, and they have prayed for him during his illness. I didn’t get the answer I wanted to my many prayers on Bill’s behalf, but I was blessed to know him and count him as a dear friend all these years. May he enjoy Heaven as much as he enjoyed Earth.
