I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice. But still, the place you live in i Read Obituary

Don, Billy, Robert and Ellen:
I just saw the notice in the TBA magazine about Wanda and wanted to let you know how very sorry I am to hear this. She was an amazing lady and I know she is sorely missed.
Leslie Luther-Fulton
My condolences to the family. I met Wanda and Don when I was privileged to do a bit of work as a law student at Memphis in 1982. I was further honored to join the law firm --Donati, Donati, Francis, Robbins, Stockton and Gosnell ( I think I got that right) upon graduation in '83. A bit later, I left to open Goulder & Stockton, but have always touted Don and Wanda as my very real friends and mentors during those short years. They just don't make folks as hard-working and dedicated to justice as these two. I miss Wanda's smile. Again, my thoughts and prayers to the family. Nuff said. David Stockton.
So sad to see this on Facebook, my amazing cousin so far away from my daughter who adored her and me who worshiped her. From our childhood days when she made a Christmas record in downtown Memphis, to the times I took refuge in her home near the Memphis State campus when Billy was a baby - she was the one I turned to when my own life went astray. So sorry for everyone in her huge circle of family and friends.
Whether she was Wanda, Miss Wanda, or Yaya, she has been an extraordinarily gifted creature, a profound thinker, a terrific mother and a generous friend. A wise, a kind, and enlightening presence with a gentle fascinating deep soul. A role model for many of us, she was the incarnation of a truly beautiful and powerful wonder woman.
My love goes to all in the Family with affection and whole hearth. Grazia
Don, In searching for another obituary, I found Wanda's. I hope you remember me as I remember you and Wanda from the olden days of Donati & Wages to Donati, Wages, Ragland & Francis on second street storefront lawyers. I will never forget Wanda's powerful spirit and constant enthusiasm for life. You and your family are in my thoughts today. All my best to you always. Betty Thompson
Wanda, always a kind, funny, smart, and wonderful person. My prayers for and condolences to her beautiful family,
