Victor Frank Giusti's Obituary
Victor Frank Giusti passed away while visiting New Orleans with close family on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at the age of 96. He is survived by his loving family including son Jim (Dotty) of Memphis, daughter, Ann Bodnar (Mike) of Franklin, TN, eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was the widower of Margaret Ann Gravett Giusti. Victor was a first generation American, born in New York City, NY to Ernest and Teresa Giusti. He graduated from City College of New York, earning the prestigious honor of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society, and became a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy in 1941. Victor worked throughout WWII on the Norden Bombsight, a top-secret military project that was vital to the allied war effort. In fall of 1942 he met a beautiful young lady, Margaret Ann Gravett, and they were married on June 8, 1943 in Piqua, OH. After finishing his naval service in New York City, they returned to Piqua where Victor began his long Engineering career with Robbins & Myers. In 1950, the family moved to Memphis when Robbins & Myers purchased Hunter Fan Company. Victor earned his masters degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Memphis and he spent a lifelong career as the Chief Engineer at Hunter Fan Company. Victor loved gardening, playing bridge, and travel and was married to his loving wife Margaret for 72 years. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 PM Thursday, February 4th in the Music Room at Trezevant Manor, followed by a memorial service in the St. Edward Chapel at Trezevant Manor at 1:30 pm.
