We moved into our home at 623 Estridge Dr in late 1950’s. I always remember Verna as a woman with a lot of class….even though I was only 6 to 12 years old at the time. I was lucky to be able to make contact with her a few years ago…while I was on a business trip to Memphis. Still the lady that I remembered. We talked about Tommy and Timmy and her husband Higgy. I still think of her often and her grace. God Bless Vern and her family.
Hello. My name is Kristi Davis. I’m the grand-daughter of Lottie Smith, Lloyd Higgins’ sister. I never had the pleasure of meeting Verna, but I’m told she was a great lady. Lottie had not been able to get ahold of Verna for some time now so I got online, to see what I could find out, when I came across this obituary. I’m sorry for your loss. I know Lottie will be heart broken. Lottie is 95 and Verna was the only family she had left close to her age. She will miss her dearly.
