Toy Bennett Whitworth's Obituary
Toy Bennett Whitworth, Jr., 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 3, 2016. He was born on January 31, 1932 in Pontotoc County, MS. He was a former member of Park Avenue Baptist Church and a current, faithful member of Cherry Road Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and shared Jesus with anyone he met, never meeting a stranger. He was formerly a truck driver for Sears and most recently worked at Whitworth Brothers Automotive. He also enjoyed vegetable gardening at home and at the Shelby County Community Gardens. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his children, Glenn Whitworth (Sheila), Richard Whitworth (Ginger), and Joseph Whitworth (Sheila); siblings, James Harold Whitworth, Carl Winston Whitworth, and Nona Faye Allen; grandchildren, Jason, Noel, Victoria, Shannon, Shawn, and Brett; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Anne Whitworth. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. and funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Friday, February 5 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. The family requests memorial gifts be sent to Youth Villages Bartlett Campus 7410 Memphis-Arlington Rd. Bartlett, TN 38135.
