Mr. Whitworth was a gentle giant. He never missed a chance to speak as I crossed the church parking lot. Sometimes teasing in a quiet sort of way and never with any malice intended. Tom and Mr. Whitworth spent many hours cruising the church parking lot on Sunday mornings before he became unable to volunteer his time. Tom has missed his presence on each fourth Sunday for several months now. We both will miss our friend more profoundly now.
