I just found out about Tommy’s passing last year. We were urology residents in San Diego at Balboa 1978-80. Tommy taught me many things, from various surgical techniques (e.g. the 8 minute vasectomy, the one handed double surgical knot, spinning the Metz scissors like a gunslinger spinning his pistol) to the importance of demonstrating confidence to patients and dealing with authority figures. Later we served together during Desert Storm ay Fleet Hospital 15 in Saudi Arabia in 1991. He was a unique role model for me and I wish I had gotten to know him, Linda and his family much better. He is missed.

Nancy and I are sadden to just now learn of Tommy’s passing. We all served in the Navy and became great friends of his and Linda from time together at NHSanDiego back in our earlier years! What great times we had and over the years after transferring around we lost touch. Recently found him in practice in Searcy but regret I never made that call….we have never forgotten Tommy,Linda and those great children over these years. All of the remaining members of the El Tomar Yacht Club born on Mission Bay over many a volleyball game, rest assured we all love you and will not forget.

I just heard of Dr. Thompson's passing. To say I am devastated and heartbroken is an understatement. He hired me while I was still in college. You taught me so much! Linda, my heart breaks for you and the kids. The two of you were a big part of my life and I will always remember the times we shared. My love, thoughts, and prayers are with you this holiday season. Dr. Thompson was an incredible person and mentor to me. The world was a better place with him in it. I am forever grateful for all he taught me, which has gotten me where I am today both professionally and personally. Getting to know his family was a blessing as well. He will be greatly missed.

I worked with Dr. Thompson at White County Med Center as a Case Manager. He was always cheerful, friendly, and respectful of the nursing staff. His smiles were genuine and heart warming. It was obvious he cared for his patients and loved his work. What a great loss for his family, friends, patients and coworkers. May God comfort his family in this time of grief.

Dr. Thompson was the first to ever take me seriously after his wife contacted him on my behalf. Because of him, I was diagnosed with IC and he saved my life many times with the procedures needed for my condition. Even when I had no insurance he took care of me. Myself and my spouse will always be grateful and I'm not sure yet what I'll do without him.

Dr. T quickly became one of my favorite doctors to work with, followed by one of my favorite people to be around. He was direct, genuine, and straightforward in a way that allowed for him to put a full day of work in front of you and you’d be happy about it. At least I was. I’m going to miss him.

I have many memories of Tommy, he was my oldest brother. But not only was he my brother, later in life he became a friend, advisor, and mentor. We would speak weekly and laughed often. He would tell me about the kids and Lark and what ever project he had going on.
He was a special person always willing to help whoever and whenever. My funniest memory is when he told me he was painting the pool when the kids were young and he had painted himself in, down at the deep end. We both got a good laugh over that.
I will miss him terribly, but I am content knowing that he gets to rest now. May God Bless his soul.
