Tim Bolding's Obituary
Tim, 62, passed away peacefully with his wife and two daughters by his side on Tuesday, May 23, 2017. He is preceded by his parents, Ed and Lucy Bolding. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Laura; his two daughters Rebecca Bolding (Robert) Zeits and Anna Bolding (Brandon) Conley; his two beloved grandsons Mason and Maddox Conley; and his sister Cindy Bolding (Stan) Ritter. Tim lived life to the fullest and made a huge impact on everyone he met. He loved working on the family farm in Alabama where and Laura loved birdwatching and sitting on the front porch together watching the sun set. They also loved to travel and saw much of the world together. He was a family man and loved spending time with his daughters, sons-in-law, and grandsons who lovingly called him Timbo. There was never a celebration that did not include dinner and drinks at his “Madison office,” Bosco’s, where he was a member of the Mug Club. He loved golf almost as much as hot sauce and cooking Mexican food. While not at the farm or with his family, Tim put his heart and soul into United Housing. As Executive Director, his passion for helping others had a tremendous impact on the local economy, counseling over 6,800 individuals and families and facilitating the purchase of more than 2,500 homes in Memphis and Shelby County. He was an active member of Kiwanis, active in THDA, and Grace-St. Luke’s Church. He also taught Anthropology at his Alma Matter, the University of Memphis, and led training at both the local and national level through the Alliance for Nonprofit Excellence and NeighborWorks America. Tim was a man with many professional achievements, but his family was his greatest achievement. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 26 at 10 am at Grace-St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 1720 Peabody Avenue, Memphis, TN, 38104. Memorial service will follow at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, please donate to United Housing (uhinc.org) or Grace-St. Luke’s Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis TN 38119 (901) 767-8930. “Celebrating Life….Behind the Stone Wall.”
