Dear Laura, I was shocked and saddened to have been told of Tim’s death this week. Tim and I started our careers in community development around the same time. Time left the County to start United Housing while I began my career with the County Housing Department about the same time. A couple years later, we were both running local nonprofits with different, complimentary focuses on housing and community development. His impact on Memphis and the 1,000s of families he served is a legacy very few others can claim. No matter where I am, there is always one day in the year when my thoughts always turn to Tim…Viva Cinco de Mayo!Peace be with you and your daughters during this very sad and difficult time. Glenn Cox Black Mountain, NC
Sending my condolences to Tim’s family. I did not have a lot of interaction with Tim, but every exchange left me in awe of his humble sincerity and obvious intellect. I’m honored to have experienced even a bit of informal peer mentoring from one of the housing field’s finest. He will be missed. Michelle Durham, Executive Director, North Country Housing Council (a NeighborWorks Organization)
Our thoughts and prayers are with Tim’s family. Such a wonderful man who touched so many of us!! Blessings to you all for comfort and peace,Colleen Dudley Habitat for Humanity of Tennessee
To Tim’s family: The heavens are brighter tonight with a new star among them. Tim’s work on earth will last forever in the homes he built and the families he helped. No doubt that God has already put him in charge of developing a better heaven for everyone. He is missed. Sheila Rice, Executive Director, NeighborWorks Great Falls, Montana.
Mr. Timothy Bolding, Our Executive Director her at United Housing is truly missing you. Thanks for all you’ve done! RIP
Tim Bolding helped so many people find a home. He made a positive impact on our community and earned the respect of many.
Laura,My heart is broken over this news of Tim’s passing. I hope you remember me, Rick Williams from Neighborworks America when Tim and I created United Housing. I have VERY fond memories of the time spent with you and Tim in your home. Tim’s infectious sense of humor matched with his skill and passion were the key ingredients of his great success. My most embarrassing golf course moments were with Tim, as well as my happiest dart games. I am praying for you Laura as well as your entire family….very crushing news.
Tim was part of the group that interviewed me and recommended my hiring into the U of M’s Department of Public and Nonprofit Administration. He also served as the chair of the Nonprofit Leadership Collaborative, for which I am the faculty coordinator. He was a joy to work with. He was a tireless advocate for our department and our students, and was an important mentor and “cheerleader” for me. I shall miss him immensely, especially our meetings at the “Madison Office.”Candace McRae Walsh
“Laura, Rebecca, and Anna, my family and I are so sorry for your loss. Tim was always a wonderful friend and advisor. By working with Holldon Properties during some really lean years, he taught me about non-profits and prepared me for what was going to come my way – the West Tennessee Veterans Home. I always admired his ability to see so far down the road and how all the pieces (or most of the pieces) could come together to improve the lives of so many. Memphis has lost a great citizen. Not one who is replaceable in my eyes. Goodbye, my friend. You will not be forgotten.”Holly Swogger – Cordova
