In 1976 when I first met Thurman and Margaret and their 8 girls it was immediately “family” to us. Known as Poppa & Momma Tinker to us, they helped raise my two children for their first 4 years of life which I will be eternally grateful forever to them. We had many “family” events like weddings, birthdays, camping trips and Poppa T. WWII ‘buddies” that I helped type itinerary, which HAD to be exact, however his love for his Church and family always came first. We were SO fortunate after his retirement to turn what was a six week accounting job into six years. I loved to call Poppa T and Momma T up to find out how they were doing and got “run down” on all the kids and grand and great grand kids. I will treasure those times always ,but I know God received a very loving and Godly man yesterday.
