Theresa Higgins' Obituary
Theresa S. Higgins, 98, died peacefully March 2, 2015. She was born July 26, 1916 in Shelby, MS to Mike and Jacinta Seghesio. She was a long-time member of St. Louis Catholic Church and also attended St. James Catholic Church. She had an unwavering faith in God and was devoted to her family and friends. She was a former member of the Chickasaw Country Club and the Nineteenth Century Club. She was a kind, generous, genuine, fashionable, Southern lady. She is survived by her children, Barbara Migliara, Betty Gush (John), and Kay French; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews from California to Italy; and former son-in-law, Lawrence Migliara. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, William Higgins; daughter, Theresa Ann Higgins; parents; one sister; and five brothers. She was always welcoming and made everyone feel special, like family. The family would like to express their appreciation to Theresa’s caregivers, Yvette, Audrey, Diane, and Tonia for their loving care. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, March 4 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. Funeral Mass will be at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, March 5 at St. Louis Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Exceptional Foundation of West Tennessee, 4965 Willow Road, Memphis, TN 38117 or charity of the donor’s choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119,”Behind the Stone Wall.”
