Sarah Rook Schlosser Perkins' Obituary
Sarah Rook Schlosser Perkins, age 89 of Memphis, TN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 of cancer. Ms. Perkins was born on April 13, 1927 in Memphis, TN, daughter of the late William L. Rook and Verna L. Rook. She was a Secretary for Southern Parts Inc. for many years until her retirement in 1968. She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, George T. Perkins in 1983 and Joseph M. Schlosser in 1950. Ms. Perkins was a member of Frayser Baptist Church. She played the cello in the past for the Germantown Sympathy and also played in a quartet. The cello was her love. Surviving Ms. Perkins are one daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Wally Duffy, one granddaughter, Carrie Alred, four great granddaughters and one great-great-granddaughter. Also surviving Ms. Perkins are three sister-in-laws, an aunt and many nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held on Friday, July 29, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN. Services will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 11:30 a.m., also at Memorial Park. Her services have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis TN 38119.
