Russell Jackson Rainey (Rusty), 54, passed away June 14, 2021 at home, succumbing to pancreatic cancer. Rusty was born on April 08, 1967, in Memphis, TN. He is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Jack Rainey (the former Adair Hogue) also of Mem Read Obituary
50 years I knew ye. That's about a lifetime of memories, and some of the happiest of my childhood. Thanks for sharing the ride.
We will miss Rusty's extraordinary sense of humor. He would flash that winning smile and deliver a very dry, but completely hilarious one-liner that was always spot-on.
I also especially recall how Rusty as just a young teen himself could mesmerize youngsters with all sorts of magic tricks, including a real rabbit. I remember how kind Rusty was to give " special magic shows " on command to kids in our neighborhood to the delight of everyone, including our then young pre-school son.
We will miss you but rejoice in knowing you are singing and playing your guitar in the LIGHT of HEAVEN.
