Roy Alan Pritchard's Obituary
Roy Alan Pritchard, 83, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 26, 2026.
Alan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, teacher, coach, and faithful servant of God. A longtime member of White Station Church of Christ, his faith was the foundation of his life and guided the way he loved and cared for others.
For many years, Alan dedicated his career in education at Harding Academy of Memphis, where he served as both a respected teacher and coach. He believed deeply in the potential of every student and athlete he mentored. Known for his steady encouragement, leadership , and integrity, Alan shaped countless young lives both in the classroom and in coaching different sports. Former students and players often remembered him not just as a coach, but as a role model who taught them lessons about character, perseverance, and doing what is right.
Above all else, Alan cherished his family. He shared 57 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Freda, building a life filled with faith, laughter, and unwavering partnership. He was a proud and loving father to Michelle Hooper, Christopher Pritchard (Kayla), and Lisa Pritchard, and a devoted grandfather to Carissa Thompson, Logan Hooper, Katie Hooper, and Andy Pritchard. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he treasured every moment and celebrating their accomplishments.
Alan will be remembered for his spirit, strength, smile, and the steady presence he brought to everyone around him. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched — his family, friends, students, and church community.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026, at White Station Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family finds comfort in knowing that Alan’s life was one well lived, well loved, and faithful to the end.
