I was saddened to learn of Grace’s passing. It seems like yesterday that we were slaving away at IRS. I knew Grace for over 30 years and we carpooled or rode in the van for most of the time. Grace retired first and a year later, I did. We both said it was the best day of our lives. Oh, the stories we could tell, but they’re not to be printed, although we all said after retirement, we would write a book about life at IRS. No one would believe the happenings. Every week we’d stop at Perkins on Sycamore View on our way home from our 6:00 pm to 2:30 am shift and enjoy breakfast together. Grace was proudest of her children, Butch, Pet and Kathy. We shared stories and pictures of our grandchildren and she recognized mine when they visited Perkins in Collierville for their fabulous pancakes. Grace was a wonderful person, talented and loving. She always had a smile on her face and was eager to help anyone. She will be sorely missed. May God comfort you and your family during your time of sorrow.
