Ronnie Bernard Vaughn's Obituary
Ronnie Bernard Vaughn, 64, passed away October 1, 2014. He was born September 6, 1950. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Melody Laughlin Vaughn; children, Wendy Thompson (Beau), Justin Vaughn (Lisa), and Taylor Vaughn; grandson, Tate Thompson; mother-in-law, Lilly Laughlin; and close family friend, Shawn Hayden. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Glenn Vaughn. He served in the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard. He was a renaissance man, generous, humble, full of laughter, and larger than life. Ronnie was a very hardworking and well respected registered nurse. He was also an amateur beekeeper, semi-pro gardener, and enjoyed cooking at home. There will never be another man like him. He was one that looked forward and never looked back. The family will receive friends beginning 2 p.m. followed by a celebration of his life at 4 p.m., Sunday, October 5 at First Evangelical Church. The family requests donations be sent to First Evangelical Church, Truth Seekers Fellowship, or Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare Foundation.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, “Behind the Stone Wall.”
