Richard Peak's Obituary
Richard Henry Peak passed from this life into the presence of His Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 15. Formerly of Chattanooga and Cleveland, TN, Rick had lived in Memphis for the past four years. Born in Chattanooga, May 4, 1954, Rick grew up in Red Bank and graduated from Red Bank High School. He became a Christian and was baptized at White Oak Baptist Church. Rick served in the U.S. Air Force and was especially gifted at managing convenience stores where he worked for much of his life. A scratch golfer, Rick was a life-long student of the game, often patiently teaching others how to excel at the sport. Dearly loved by friends and family, Rick is preceded in death by his father James M. Peak, Jr. He is survived by his mother Mary Logan Peak, brother Gerry Peak (Jill), sister Patricia Peak, nephews Nathan Peak (Corrie) and Paul Peak (Ashleigh), five great nephews and nieces, and his uncle Alan Jolly. The family gratefully acknowledges the loving care provided Rick by the staff of Rainbow Health and Rehab, Bartlett, TN. At 10 a.m., Monday, September 19 at Memorial Park, a private memorial service for the family will celebrate Rick’s loving life, his generosity of heart, and God’s goodness and faithfulness throughout Rick’s life. The family will receive guests at Memorial Park from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan’s Purse.
