Pat, I just heard that the Lord called you. I learned much about radio from you as a teenager and college student, you got me out of some real ham jams, and you fostered my enthusiasm for morse code, eventually competing with you to see who could send and receive the fastest. You, Pat, W4OQG, Jim, KI4I and me, WK2B, whooped everyone at CW. Along with you, Pat, we were the fastest code slingers on the Mississippi. I wish I could have shared the key with you for one more QSO and some great laughs. The memory of you will always be a blessing. Tks fer QSO Pat....88/73.

Pat Lane was a very good friend of CERI and helped us build our seismic network. He was our go-to for our hardest telemetry problems. He helped us with our MARS license and building our winlink system we call our doomsday radio. He will be missed.

I have known Pat for a lifetime. He was a friend of my father who was also a ham radio operator. I had met Pat through my dad. I was reacquainted with Pat when I got licensed. He was so very helpful, very intelligent man. He could do anything regarding the radio. I have missed very much talking with him. He helped me make an antenna for my 2 millimeter radio, he also helped me with a wire antenna. He could be asked anything & he would know the answer. He was also with me when my mom passed away.
