Richard was a great friend of mine as well as many of the troopers in our Civil War Re-enactment unit, the 7th Tennessee Cavalry. He loved horses, especially his beloved mount Jake. Richard rode Jake in our 7th Tennessee Cavalry for many years, making historical movies, doing living histories on National Military Parks, as well as participating in numerous re-enactments. Richard also took great pride in riding horses with the Memphis Mounted Police Department.
