Richard Albert Cesani's Obituary
Richard Albert Cesani passed away on March 20, 2024.
Richard was born in New York City on August 30, 1946, to Irma Estasen Cesani (d. 5.1.1996) and Carlos Cesani (7.1.1976) and grew up in Bergenfield, NJ. Richard joined the United States Army in 1972 and was a member of the United States Marching Band stationed at West Point, NY until 1976. After the army, he moved to Memphis where he attended The University of Memphis, earning both a Bachelors and a Masters Degree in music. Richard went on to teach at the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music and created the Terri and Richard Cesani scholarship for students in need.
He was a beloved and recognized musician in Memphis playing the drums, teaching and giving back to the music community fixing instruments at Amro Music for over 20 years.
He married the love of his life, Helen Theresa "Terri" Modinger Cesani, on July 21, 1994 in Memphis. Terri passed on November 12, 2017.
Richard is survived by his brother David Cesani and niece Serena Cesani Skala and nephew David Charles Cesani, all of New Jersey.
