No words!! I am beyond heartbroken right now. Nelson was such a great guy. He added so much to my college life and beyond that. We had so many great stories and the memories oh the memories! My mom immediately fell in love with him / he was know as “The Big Guy” – we had a special group in collegeNelson was one of the good guys. He was good-hearted, smart, fun, and compassionate.
RIP Nelson- too young, too soon. Thanks for the moments we had together. He was one of a kind and will be missed. Some of my favorite memories and stories of U of O involved Nelson. R.I.P. Nelson. My heart is heavy today after unexpectedly losing a friend/co-worker. I just can’t seem to get my head around this one and have cried until there are no more tears. Rest in peace Nelson Peatross. You will truly be missed. So very sad to learn that you have left us, Nelson. Prayers for your family and friends.
You changed lives!I will share my favorite memory of him if I may. We used to be on a trivia team at the P&H and we were hosting one night, Nelson was charged with handing out the answer sheets and he got to a table that just ordered some food- total strangers mind you- he asked for a fry. So matter of a factly. “Can I have a fry” that just kind of sums him up to me. Rest In Peace my friend. This is a great example of the wonderful man you were. He was truly a gentle giant and the life of the party. Several years later, I found myself as a single mom, completely overwhelmed by all that was going on in our lives. Many nights—-too many to recall, Nelson would chat late into the night with me, reassuring me and making me laugh. More often than not he would find the perfect words of encouragement to get me through the next day. You are so loved my friend.I knew and loved Nelson, and he did an awful lot of good in Memphis. You and yours are in my heart today …I had the pleasure of working with Nelson for many years as he would refer his clients to me at Parkwood. I truly adored him and his sense of humor! He will be missed.Nelson was one of the most sincere and friendliest guy’s I ever met. We get so busy in our work at the Court sometime, but Nelson was always so calm, and you never saw Nelson flustered. A tornado could be ripping the building apart, but I guarantee you that you could walk by Nelson’s office and he would be sitting in there calm and collected just doing his work, truly one of the most laid back guys I ever knew.Nelson’s spirit will truly be missed at Juvenile Court. There was not one time over the years that Nelson worked at the Court when I walked by his office and spoke that he didn’t say hey in that deep laid back voice he had. Although Nelson’s life on this earth was short lived, he made a positive impact on the lives of alot of people. I am thankful for my friendship I had with Nelson. Rest in peace, and good-bye for now. I’ll see you on the other side.Among my favorite memories is the fact that whenever I asked Nelson a question on causation in the history classes his first response was “Conflict, Big Guy.”Heartbroken. I’ll miss you my friend. ????You touched many Nelson. The world is a lesser place. Rest my friend. He was a wonderful, gentlemanly presence. I am so very sorry to hear it.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Nelson was a great, kind and fun guy. His family will remain in my thoughts and prayers.
Nelson will be missed here at Juvenile Court. His unique voice and way with words provided us with endless joy and high moral in working in an environment that is often full of gloom and despair. I always found Nelson to be well informed and willing to assist with clients/ families that we worked with together. 1 love, big guy!!!
