My sincerest sympathy and love to the Pera family at this time of great loss. My thoughts are especially with Caroll Ann as she recreates her world and surrounds herself with memories of Nathan. One small and distant memory that I have is sitting in the rain with Nathan and Caroll Ann at Fred’s outdoor graduation ceremony at Yale. I believe Nathan had on a drugstore raincoat that wasn’t exactly his size because none of us was prepared for the weather. He and Caroll Ann both were grand, thoroughly good natured about the soggy ritual.

Judy and I were deeply saddened to hear of Nathan’s passing.As a fellow classmate of the 1956 Class of Christian Brother High School, he and I did not become good friends until years later at one of the class’s early reunions which he was so instrumental in organizing and developing as a regular event. We talked often by phone and Email about matters of concern and issues of the day. Some of my better golf games were the few times we played together.
