Steve was in the tornado that happened in Memphis in March of 1984. It demolished his home and injured him but spared his life. When he came to he was looking everywhere for his black toy poodle C.V. Thats all he caref about. He was rushed to the hospital to the emergency room with back injuries And still asking Someone to please try to find CV. His home lay in splinters. Everyone went to the tornado site the next day and was trying to salvage anything they could, but in the back of everyone’s mind, they were thinking they would Find the body of Steves little dog. This is a Picture that was in the newspaper after Steve had been in the hospital from the tornado. While he was in the hospital, all he was worried about was his little dog CV. The second day he was in the hospital someone had found his dog about a mile or two away from The tornado site and brought him to that site. My parents brought his little dog up to the hospital in a brown paper bag. Steve was overjoyed To know that CV was still alive!!! A few days after Steve got out of the hospital, the newspaper came and took a picture of him with His beloved C.V. ♥️♥️♥️

I remember how much Steve loved his little dog, Corvette - or "CV," as he called him. Before we could go anywhere, we would always have to take CV to his sister's house so she could dog-sit. CV didn't like being left alone, and Steve made sure he was always cared for.

One summer day I remember us sitting around with a few others, eating watermelon and laughing while we tried to see who could spit the seeds the farthest. It was such a simple moment , but it was full of joy and good company.

Steve was truly a joy to be around. He had a big heart and a very kind soul.

Till we meet again, Steve.

We enjoyed and connected through music and nature, often spending countless hours on the phone discussing new music. Steve had a wonderful sense of humour and he never said no to an adventure.

Steve was one of the good guys. I met him in Panama City Florida in the mid '70's. We became instant friends. My life was enriched by knowing him.
I want to express my deepest condolences and heart felt sympathy to his family. I hope you smile more than cry when memories of Steve flood your mind.

in honor of Michael.

I remember Steve as a friend, neighbor and most of all—as a big brother to Connie, David, Tim and Mark. Every time I saw him, he was busy creating or fixing something. What I recall most though, is the warmth of his smile. I never saw him without the warm, reassuring expression of an older friend and big brother. I’m so sorry life dealt this blow to his health. Best wishes to Rhonda and his family as they navigate life without Steve.
