Michael "Mike" Dwight Edge's Obituary
Michael “Mike” Dwight Edge, of Collierville, Tennessee, left his earthly body to meet His Savior in heaven on Friday evening, March 29, 2019, at the age of 60. His family is certain that Mike heard the words “well done thy good and faithful servant.” He was a kind and gentle man who loved the Lord, his family, and his church.Mike was born on June 10, 1958, in Tupelo, Mississippi to Travis and Shirley Edge. He was happily married to Patricia Gay (Wells) Edge for 41 years. He was a longtime employee of the Defense Depot and retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was an active member of Leawood East Baptist church where he served in many capacities including deacon and treasurer. His greatest joy was spending time with family especially with his beloved grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his father, Travis Edge. Mike is survived by his mother, Shirley Edge; wife, Gay Edge; daughters, Amy Bingham (Russ) and daughter, Amanda Edge; and grandchildren, Anna Claire (9), Riley (8), Brooks (5), and Zeke (3) Bingham. He also leaves two brothers, Garry Edge (Sandra) and Tim Edge and a large extended family who will greatly miss him.The family will receive friends on Monday, April 1 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. and funeral services celebrating Mike’s life will be held at 2:30 p.m., all at Leawood East Baptist Church, 1620 South Houston Levee Road. Graveside services will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
