Mary J. Lackey, age 68, passed away at home surrounded by her family and friends on Monday, April 29th, 2019 from Bulbar ALS. As the youngest of 12 children, “Babykins” as her siblings affectionately still call her, was born in Wa Read Obituary
WOW – what an awesome cousin. I just found Mary’s obituary and wondered if there might be a Wabeno celebration of her life as well. Cards were mailed to Missy and Bob shortly after cousin Geri B. informed me of Mary’s passing. I so enjoyed the evening we spent in St. Augustine a few months ago. Mary’s chance to see the sun, sand a surf. Mary touched your heart immediately when in her presence. I agree it will be nice to know we have another angel looking out for us.
So very sorry to hear about Mary. See was a very vibrant person and we had been in touch our the past year and it was so good to hear from her. She had wondered siblings ani it was so good to have known her and again to hear from her again.
We love you and we will miss you Aunt Mary and I know that I have another guardian angel smiling down over us.
Mary Lackey was a neighbor who always thought of everyone; from bringing fresh vegetables to our home, riding her lawnmower to our house for my husband to make a minor repair on it; driving by our home and sending us a big wave as she slows down her vehicle to turn into her road to go into her driveway….a praying, God-fearing woman filled with the Love of Christ that flowed over into her life with family, friends, and her workplace; her small stature did not stop her from tackling any task in her yard or home and the smile on her face and her laughter brought sunshine to everyone. We will miss our neighbor Mary and it saddens us that she will not be “right down the road”!!!…But…she is strolling down the streets of Gold of Heaven with Jesus with Him whispering in her ear, “Well done, thy Good and Faithful Servant”…..Sweet rest my dear friend, until we meet again walking with our Savior Jesus Christ….
So sorry for your loss. What an amazing woman to even give to others after her passing. May her gift lead to a cure.
Mary was my BFF for two-thirds of our lives, and I have never known a kinder, more loving person. She was the sister of my heart, and as I told her a month ago, I will grieve every day until we see each other again. To Bob, Missy, & family, Tommy and I are are very grateful to have been there with you for her home-going. We love you.
