I remember one day when I was maybe 18 or 19. I was at the hospital visiting my grandfather and I knew that Mizz Martha was there too preparing for open heart surgery. I didn’t realize the surgery was THAT day until I poked my head in to say hello. The whole Fields family was there and they were waiting for the hospital staff to come get Martha for surgery. Most people would have been anxious- but I remember her smiling and laughing with her family. I think about that day so often when I feel anxious about something. What a blessing Martha and the whole Fields family has been to me and my family! I will so miss her beautiful smile and contagious laugh!! Much Love – Georgann
