Marilyn Dismuke's Obituary
Marilyn Lindsey Rose Dismuke, 66, of Katy, Texas, passed away in her sleep November 28, 2017. Lin was born August 14, 1951 to Marilyn Lindsey and Shirley Owens Rose, Jackson, Tennessee. She married Keith Ingram Dismuke on August 28, 1970. Lin’s life was defined by a tireless dedication to sharing God’s love, compassion, and grace. She was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She had a passion for teaching children about Jesus. Lin served as the Preschool and Children’s Ministry Director at Riverbend Baptist Church, Fulshear, TX and previously worked as the Texas Children’s Area Coordinator for Bible Study Fellowship. She eagerly looked forward each summer to taking her children to camp. When she wasn’t working with children, Lin enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, sewing, advocating for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and supporting the Houston Astros. Above all, Lin loved people. Her effervescent love brought joy to people everywhere she went. She will be greatly missed.A memorial service celebrating Lin’s life will be held at Kingsland Baptist Church, Katy, Texas at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, December 4. Funeral services will be held in Memphis, Tennessee. Visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home Memphis on Wednesday, December 6 at 10:00 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. followed by a graveside ceremony.Surviving Lin is her adoring husband of 47 years, Keith Dismuke of Katy, TX. Also surviving her are daughter Leigh Dismuke of Katy, TX; son Craig Dismuke of Germantown, TN; brother Lt Col (ret) Charles A.
