Margaret "Peggy" Adams' Obituary
Margaret “Peggy” Adams, 72, passed away on March 8, 2015 in Atlanta, GA, with close friends by her side. Ms. Adams was born on December 28, 1942 in Memphis TN to Catherine Griffin Adams and Lawrence Hudson Adams.She devoted her life to educating high school students in math. She began her teaching career at Saint Agnes Academy then moved to Nashville and taught at Father Ryan High School. Ms. Adams later moved to Atlanta and taught at Marist School until her retirement.She coached the girls in basketball, softball, and golf throughout her career and for many years was the head counselor at Camp Marymount.Ms. Adams was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Catherine Adams Trouy. She is survived by her siblings, Mary Frances Adams, Lawrence “Buddy” Adams (Barbara), Patsy Adams Barrow (Joe), Jeanne Adams Duffy (John), 14 nieces and nephews, and 21 great nieces and nephews.The family would like to thank the staff at Northside Hospital and her dear friends Carol, Diane, and Deborah, who were so devoted to her.Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 12 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2564 Hale Ave., Memphis TN, with the funeral Mass to follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Agnes Academy, Father Ryan High School in Nashville, or Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
