Marcella Moore Thompson's Obituary
Marcella Moore Thompson, 91, of Memphis, TN, died on January 7, 2017, in Memphis. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bertha Moore; her husband, Lawrence Carnell Thompson; and two brothers, Howard Moore and Gordon Moore (Lee). She leaves three brothers, Joe Moore (Kay) of Hernando, MS, Bob Moore (Willa) of McKenzie, TN, and Clyde Moore (Mary Lynne) of Camden, TN. She also leaves a daughter, Lynn McAlpine of Virginia Beach, VA and son Michael Lawrence Thompson (Liz) of Southaven, MS. She is survived by five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their families. Marcy treasured her family above all else. She was a member of Central Church and of the Chucalissa Chapter of the D.A.R. She volunteered as a talented seamstress for Theatre Memphis. She enjoyed playing bridge and traveling—visiting China, Russia, Japan, Ireland, Mexico, England, Germany, France and other locations. She was retired from Care Inns, Inc. Visitation is at Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery in Memphis at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 10, followed immediately by a service and reception at 11:30 a.m. Marcy loved flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Theatre Memphis or Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, Camden, TN.
