I was extraordinarily fortunate to encounter Dr. Bond at Arizona State University. After my first class with him I resolved to take every course he taught. Over my career I have frequently reflected back on those course learnings. Mine is a family of Mathematicians, but my experience with Dr. Bond preserved my state of mind when one of my children decided to pursue a PhD and and career in “the dark science” of Economics. Dr. Bond brought Economics to life with excitement. Academia is fortunate to have such committed leaders. Immortality is difficult, but those many students he taught will ensure he is long remembered.

Growing up together in Bloomfield, attending the same church, singing with The Four Counts, playing football and basketball together … close friends, but seldom got to see each other since. Sorry to learn of “ME’s” death. I extend my sympathies to all who knew and loved him.
