Lloyd Gilbert Hansen, Sr. born June 5, 1935 went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on January 6, 2018.He is survived by his loving wife of 9 years, Martha Lovelady Hansen. He is preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Briggs Hansen and his parents, Lorens and Gustava Hansen.Lloyd is also survived by his four children, Lloyd G. Hansen, Jr. (Francisca) of Norway, Susan L. Hansen of Stuart, FL, Phillip L. Hansen of Stuart, FL, W. Bryant Hansen (Karen) of Prattville, AL; and eight grandchildren, Kiersten, Christopher, Wesley (Casey), Hannah, John Peter, Samuel, Hayleigh, and Leah.Lloyd was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY where he graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School. He earned a bachelor of science degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 1957, and after two years in the United States Navy, he settled his family in Memphis, TN where he began a lifetime career in the oil and gas industry. Although he never practiced law, Lloyd graduated from Southern Law School in Memphis in 1963.A longtime former member of Broadmoor Baptist Church, Memphis, TN, he served for many years as a deacon and adult men’s Sunday school teacher and was passionately involved in international missions.Lloyd was a sinner saved by God’s grace. He loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ and will be greatly missed by family and friends.Visitation will be Sunday, January 14 from 5-8 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119.Funeral service will be Monday, January 15 at 11 a.m. at Independent Presbyterian Church, 4738 Walnut Grove Road, Memphis, TN 38117 with Ronnie Collier Stevens officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.The family requests that memorials be made to Ministry to the Military and Internationals, c/o Col.
