I feel sort of silly talking to my brother because where he is, he’s not giving this world a second thought and might I add, I don’t blame him. So, I guess I’m expressing what’s in my heart to whomever is listening.
My brother was a giant among many men who stood for the Lord Jesus, he was not ashamed to stand up for righteousness, he didn’t bend, compromise for the adulation and approbation of mere men.
He wasn’t perfect, because there’s only one who is perfect, our Lord, but he strived for perfection, he well understood Jesus’ command, “Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.” Matthew 5:48
My brother was aware that the Lord was calling him home and for that, he was well satisfied because he was ready to go.
What I’ve learned from ‘Boogie’ most profoundly was the word of God and it was a pleasure listening to him teach and preach God’s unadulterated Word.
My brother was a prankster too, I remember my sister and I were in elementary school and my brother took us all the way up to Grizzly Peak and he told me to look back, (we were in the car) I said, ‘no!’ He said Jennifer if you don’t look back, I’m going to take the breaks off and I’m going to let the car roll backwards, I freaked out, because he knew I was afraid of heights, he laughed so hard at me and told me, I was being silly. He wasn’t going to do that.
My brother and I loved astronomy, star gazers, our Daddy too! When my brother took his last breath, his attending angel took him pass the MilkyWhite Way pass billions of stars and galaxies and he soared into the third Heaven, I’m sure it was a most delightful treat, but I am sure after that soaring tour, he met Jesus our Lord, Him who made possible for every born-again believer’s entrance into that most beautiful holy place called heaven.
You can’t get there unless you’re holy, not just saying it, but you’ve got to live it! Most importantly the only way you’ll get there is; you’ve got to have His blood on your soul!
