Linda was always kind to me and my family. I’ll always remember when I was a little girl coming over for Christmas, and then again on New Year’s Day for a big spread & watching football on TV. I always loved eating Leonard BBQ at her house & drinking 7UP soft drinks. I always thought that she and my granddad were wealthy because I always got the most awesome Christmas presents….Chatty Cathy, a clock radio, a lovely evening purse that I still own & use & a pretty blue & green afghan that she knitted were just some of them. She later even knitted my sons sweet little rugs and Christmas stockings. Linda was very generous to me even after my granddad died. One day I was visiting at Parkview at a Christmas party & there was dancing. I whispered to her that my granddad would be up dancing & if I had a partner I would be too. My granddad taught me the fox trot & let me stand on his shoes while he danced with me. Linda & I both decided that my Dad & Aunt Margaret were ‘ol party poopers because they didn’t get out on the dance floor & boogie. Ha! I always thought Linda was an elegant hostess…we got to use the best china for our family get-togethers at her house. She also taught me to freeze girl scout cookies & save them for later in the year. She made the best pound cake, too. I hope that she knows how much I appreciated & respected her & I loved her because she not only was a sweet lady, but because she loved my granddad & made him happy while he was alive.
Your family has my condolences in this sad time. (Isa. 25:8)
