Lila and my mom (who is 93 and originally from Memphis) were very dear friends for many years. They often exchanged phone calls and Irene always looked forward to catching up with your mom. They last spoke in mid-December and Lila gushed how she was so looking forward to the holiday season with her family. How grateful I am that I was able to visit with your sweet mom – as we loved to call her “Little Mother” which she truly was to me while I lived in Memphis in the early 70s. Pool open anytime, sandwiches when appropriate, even an occasional beer sometimes on Sundays, often on my dayoffs from Bradford Showroom where she and your dad both showered a young salesman with purchases. I can still hear her laugh and get that twinkle in her eye when I reminded her that we called that husband whom she dearly loved “Bogus”. She truly had a gift of making everyone feel that her home was their home including my son one night on his way to Little Rock.
