Dr. Lester J. Pourciau, Jr, retired Director of the University of Memphis Libraries, passed away on November 30, 2009.He is survived by his wife Rebecca Thomas, son John Pourciau, sister Gail Campo and brother Arthur Pourciau both Read Obituary
Dr. Pourciau hired me as a Serials Clerk in the Periodicals Department in 1984, under the supervision of Rita Broadway. I was later transferred to the Mail room, where I currently made twenty five years with University Libraries. Thanks Dr. P.

To Family members; I served with Dr. Pourciau on statewide committees ethrough the years. I always enjoyed his company and his wonderful sense of humor. I was sad when he retired and was no longer part of our work groups. I am thankful he was part of
Dr. Pourciau was one of the first library directors I got to know when i started working at Crichton. Once he met you, he always remembered your name and would make it a point to talk to you at library meetings. I will miss his stories about his oversea
