Leroy Allen Franklin's Obituary
Leroy Allen Franklin, 75, passed away on 28 November 2017 in Piperton, Tennessee surrounded by family and holding the hand of his devoted and loving wife, Janice Barnett Franklin. Born 14 January 1942, he lived his life working for his family, and solving problems was how he played. After graduating from Germantown High School in 1960, he served for two years in the U.S. Army. He then began to drive for Jones Truck Line until he retired in 1992. He is preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. R. K. Franklin, sister Billie Franklin Hunter, and brother Joseph Estes Franklin. He is survived by a large, loud family made up of his sister Cheryl Franklin Suttle, a multitude of nieces and nephews, son Andrew, daughter-in-law Erin, their two children Emma and Cade, his daughter Teresa, son-in-law Jay Johnson, and their three boys Elias, Benjamin, and Matthew. He loved his children greatly, and he allowed his grandchildren to teach him how to have real fun. He valued any time that he could spend outside or working with his hands. Cutting wood, cutting the grass, gardening, and finding problems to solve kept his body going and his mind sharp until the end. He leaves this world with faith that his life was well-lived and that his children and grandchildren remember his crooked smile.Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119 (901) 767-8930. “Celebrating Life… Behind the Stone Wall”.
