Leonora “Poochie” Gill Bishop, 88, of Memphis, TN, passed away on January 23rd, 2022. She was born on October 8, 1933, in Memphis, TN, daughter of the late Nelson Waters Gill and Leonora Nuvolini Gill. She was predeceased by her Read Obituary
I have many memories of parties, receptions, events and fancy dinners with Poochie and Kirby. She was a great friend and always ready for good conversation.
One memory is of a party Poochie held at their home in Friendswood, Texas. Poochie, teenaged Laurie and I spent days preparing the house to perfection. The place was so packed with guests that we laughed that only the first arrivals got to see our party décor. Fortunately Poochie had prepared what I said was “enough food to feed an army.”
Ever the supportive friend and game for a good time, Poochie, with Laurie driving, joined us in Mobile to support our daughter in a competition.
I am lucky to have had such a fun and loyal friend. She leaves me with so many good memories.
