Lee Austin Nicholson's Obituary
Lee Austin Nicholson, 84, of Eads, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 07, 2015 at Baptist Trinity Hospice. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Beverly who passed a few short months ago. Lee and Beverly are reunited again forever after 62 years together. Lee was a graduate of Central High School and a member of the football team where he earned All Memphis honors. He attended Rice University and graduated with honors with a degree in Architecture. Lee was an accomplished and recognized architect with McGehee Nicholson Burke Architects. Many of the churches, schools, dormitories and shopping centers you often see have Lee’s mark on them. Lee’s clients became his friends and he enjoyed the relationships with hundreds of them over the years. Lee was a member of two churches in his life. He was on the cradle roll at Madison Heights Methodist and a longtime member of St. Luke’s United Methodist. Lee served the Lord faithfully in many capacities including his most important role of support and encouragement to Beverly. They were a great team and a great example of service to the Lord and to all people. Lee leaves his son, David Nicholson (Vicki) and his daughter Debbie Sims (Richard). “Pappaw” loved his grandchildren, Heather Jennings (Andy), Ali Todd (Lee), Amy Long (Brandon), Rachel Gentry (Will) and Rick Sims, and his great grandchildren, Nicholas and Lilly Ann Jennings, Kyler Todd, Drake Long, Brett and Bradley Warner.
