Larry Flowers' Obituary
Larry Flowers was called home on February 8, 2026 at 76 years of age. He was born on November 25, 1949 in Memphis, Tennessee to Robert and Agnes Flowers. As a child, he received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior as a member of Christian Chapel Baptist Church. He was raised in the Hollywood community in North Memphis and graduated from Douglass High School. After high school, he married his high school sweetheart, Thais.
Larry would later enlist in the US Marine Corps. After his service, he relocated to Detroit, Michigan with his wife and their two children. It was there that he discovered his career calling as a histotechnologist. Being able to put to
to work his methodical, investigative, and detail-oriented personality, made his work truly enjoyable. He dedicated much of his professional career to the Veterans Administration Hospital. After retiring from the VA Hospital, he settled into a quiet and peaceful life.
Larry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was an avid gardener who loved fishing, restoring old furniture, and engaging in conversations about life, love and politics.
Larry is survived by his children, Valencia, Juaquin, and Esther, along with his grandchildren, Caden, Dmitri, Shelbie, Joaquin, Justin, Joshua, Khalil, Amin, Malec and Natalie. He also leaves behind his siblings, Robert, Ruth, and Pat, his two great grandchildren, his sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thais, his parents, Robert and Agnes, and his brother, Jerry.

The service for Mr. Flowers will be held at 9:00 a.m., Monday, March, 2, 2026 in the Rotunda at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
