Daquanda Flowets
My Buddy, my Gardner, my Listener, my Father-in-Law, and Mr. Jack of All Trades!
I still can’t get my mind around that you are no longer here with us. Oh how I loved our phone conversations, me stopping by with a sandwich to visit you, picking up small items from Costco for you “Only if it’s not a bother”, and picking out the most beautiful flowers for you every Spring. Oh how you loved your Petunias, Wandering Jew plant and the Iris plants that somehow yours always outgrew mine 😉Just sitting with you even in times of silence was just something special that I so enjoyed. You taught me about so many things, even things that I had no interest in such as Tennis (smiling). Always encouraging me and reminding me how you saw and appreciated my strength. You were proud of me and you shared that with me.
You would never allow me to be hard on myself when I didn't make over to see you, instead you always chose to see my heart and give me grace. Our time was just not enough. I will miss sharing pictures of Khalil at his band performances, basketball games, homecoming’s, him learning to drive, or just sharing how things were going. Sharing pictures of Will and all of the things that he was venturing into. You even had a way of loving Joy. Whenever I needed someone to dog sit her you never hesitated to help, as you even made extra bacon to give her because according to you she didn’t eat the nasty dog treats that I sent her with.
I love you, and I am so glad that I had the opportunity to share that with you. I miss you and I don’t think that will ever go away.
Love your Daughter in Law 💔
