One of my fondest memories growing up was Thanksgiving Day at the farm. Grandma would spend weeks preparing food for that very special day. She would bake 12 cakes, 14 pies, 4 chickens, 2 hams, and plenty of side dishes as well. There would be various candies hidden in every nook and cranny. It was almost like an Easter egg hunt just trying to find them all. That was all very exciting but the real highlight of the holiday was anticipating the arrival of our Memphis cousins (Joe, Denise, and Jana). We only got to see them once a year so we crammed as much fun as we possibly could into that day! When I think about my childhood memories that one is right at the top of the list! Cindy Morgan Owens
