I met John when he was in Lessons at Brazos Bottom Belles and Beaus Square Dance Club. My husband was unable to dance much due to medical issues which are now resolved. John would dance an occasional tip with me, and he would sit and visit with Sam. Our square dance friends become like family. We play together and pray together and often dine together after the square dance to socialize. Hugs and Prayers for all who will miss his wonderful smile. Michele & Sam.
I met John a couple of years ago while working as an usher for the Astros. John was an avid fan who loved his team through all the ups and downs of the baseball season.
We often shared stories of our team and the players. We also shared stories of our mutual employment in the Petrochemical/Oil & GAS industry which was very good to us and our families. Of course, the end goal of enjoying retirement is the most satisfying, and he was truly happy in his retirement years. I will miss his kind and generous nature and always remember him fondly.
John will be dearly missed by our family. We developed a genuine friendship with him over the past couple of years, and we are so grateful to have known him. His presence at our boys’ sporting events never went unnoticed, and we always felt his love and support. I will miss seeing him at the dinner table, too. He was one of the kindest men I’ve ever known, and we are truly blessed to have shared so many wonderful memories with him. My deepest condolences go out to John’s family during this difficult time.
John was such an outstanding solid human being. We had the pleasure of being introduced to John by Deb Holmes. I knew there was something special because she had sparkles in her eyes when she danced with him and the same with him. He was learning how to square dance, but secretively wanted to get to know Deb more so he learned the lessons quickly. It all worked out because they became a couple soon after.
He was always there to help at our dance club with whatever was needed. He had a sense of calm, quiet, leadership. I really love that about him. I was so glad to hear that he asked Deb to marry him again. They were perfect together.
We are so sorry to hear of your loss. We enjoyed having him belong to our square dance club and come to dance every Tuesday evening. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.
