I will miss seeing John walking his dog, working in his yard and trying to keep road clean in the wooded area . I was always concerned a car might not see him.
John was very devoted to Holy Spirit Catholic Church. I enjoyed seeing him every Sunday at 7:30 services as he took the cross up the isle and was an altar server during Mass. After Mass, I always touched his arm and told him he did a great job serving God during Mass. He will be truly missed. May God bless.
Our thoughts and prayers go to the McNary family in this time of loss and celebration of life. We hold dear the times spent together and how the McNary family has been such a big part of ours. As time passes, we will forget the things John said or the things he did. But we will always remember how he made us feel and the family and friends left behind. Cherish those memories and the ones closest.“Honor me not by mourning my death, but by celebrating my life” – Chris M. BradenGodspeed John McNary.

John was a wonderful addition to the Shelby County Historical Commission and supported us at The Germantown Museum, especially with the research and restoration of the McVay Gardens Cemetery. His pleasant manner and knowledge will be missed.
RIP Cousin, Condolences to your family. We have good memories of John, and we know he had a special place in his heart for my mother. We lose a great one, God called him home.
