John P. Kay's Obituary
John P. Kay, Sr., 73, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024.
John was a graduate, huge fan, and supporter of University of Memphis where he was a brother of Lambda Chi Alpha. He retired from the railroad after 36 years of dutiful service. He was a lifetime member and former president of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, co-chairman of the Greek Festival, and John was currently serving as the president of the AHEPA Organization.
He was also a longtime member of Masonic Lodge #299
John was preceded in death by his parents, Pete James Kay, Sr. and Elizabeth Pete Kay, and a brother Pete James Kay, Jr.
He is survived by, his wife of 45 years, Nancy J. Kay, Three children, John P. Kay, Jr. (Jennifer), Brianna E. Castellucci (Conan), Tiffany Kay Adams, eight grandchildren, Mason James Kay, Lillian Grace Kay, Elizabeth Sophia Castellucci, Vito Yanni Castellucci, Spiro Michael Castellucci, Hayden Brennan Adams, Shelby Krista Adams, Piper Delaney Adams, three nieces, Alexandra Faulk, Erin Caspersen, and Jennifer Kay, and sister in law, Maureen Kay.
The visitation will be held Sunday, June 2, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 3rd, at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 573 N. Highland St., Memphis TN 38122.
The family request memorial donations in his honor to Father Nicholas Vieron Scholarship Fund.
