Joel Vivian Campbell Alexander known as Mrs. A by her students and neighbors, passed away July 25, 2023 at home surrounded by family. Joel was born in Memphis, TN on July 28, 1935 to Samuel Wardlow Campbell and Alice Vivian DuBose Read Obituary
Joel will be missed by her many friends at Church of the Holy Communion. May light perpetual shine upon her.
Joel was a very close cousin during our childhood and beyond. She was a great companion and we spent many hours together. Bibble and Wardlaw were close to my mother and father. Mother and Bibble were close sisters and uncle wardlow and dad were close. They lived within the same block with us in Memphis, Chattanooga,Birmingham and Atlanta. For a while during WWII
Uncle Wardlow worked at the bomb plant in Oak Ridge then in Tulsa, Ok and I spent most of the summer with them. Joel and I had many adventures together and enjoyed each others company. Our senior year vacation we drove to Panama City for a week with our high school friends in my dad's new Buick, great memories. We kept in touch through the later years and I loved her like a sister. Will miss her but know she has gotten her angel wings like her great pottery. Our love and prayers are with the family.
