Mr. Joe David Ligon's Obituary
Joe David Ligon, age 54 of Memphis, Tennessee, died October 23, 2018 surrounded by those he loved. He was born in Biloxi, Mississippi to Linda and Joe Ligon. He was their only son and the brother of, Lea McClaren. David loved sports and music from a young age. He could pick up any instrument and play it by ear in short time. He loved going to Memphis Grizzlies games mostly with his kids when they were in town. He had four children Hunter, Dalee, Jona, and Savanna. Hunter works in Memphis as an environmental scientist, Dalee is on Young Life staff in Athens, Ga. Both Jona and Savanna are in school at the the University of Tennessee and the North Carolina State University, respectively. David will be remembered as a do it all dad for his four children and others that he gathered under his wing. He worked for Hilton where was the Director of Compensation. David felt fortunate to be surrounded in the work place with quality people that he considered real friends. Visitation will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home Friday, October 26th at 1:30 p.m. with the service following at 3:00 p.m. The Ligon family would like to extend their gratitude to all the family and friends who have reached out to them in their time of loss.
