Joanne was my mentor as a young teacher. She taught me things you don’t learn about in teaching school. We were team teachers for 6 years. She was by my side for a very hard time in my life. I will forever remember her gently spirit and witty comments. My favorite would be knocking on the teacher lounge bathroom door when she was in there. Her reply would always be something funny like “getting a pedicure… be out in a minute!” She would talk about her mom and Mr. Roy and her pugs. I know that heaven is rejoicing, but we are so very sad.
Mrs Wentworth was my sons 5th grade teacher and she was the best! He had such a great year with her. I’m so saddened to hear of her passing but know she made a huge impact on our lives.
Joanne taught across the hall from me at Harding Cordova. She is the one who told me about “People to People Ambassador Programs.” I checked it out and have been traveling and educating children from around the world for 10 years now. Joanne was an inspiration to so many including me. She worked late hours after school preparing for the next day. I remember seeing her in her classroom wearing her comfy shoes to work in after school. Wayne Ray
