Jo Bawcum's Obituary
Jo Evelyn Bawcum, 86, passed away peacefully January 11, 2016 surrounded by family at her home in Bartlett, Tennessee after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born April 24, 1929 in Saltillo, TN. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee and her Master’s Degree at the University of Memphis. She had a long and rewarding career in the field of education. She enjoyed her family, friends and church. She was an avid traveler and ventured around the world. She will be remembered lovingly, as a person of faith, tolerance and generosity. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Wayne Bawcum, daughter Connie Bawcum (Richard Wills), son Cary Bawcum (Daphne), five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, January 15, from 12-1 pm with the funeral service immediately following in the Fireside Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the donor’s charity of choice.Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery….”Celebrating Life…..Behind the Stone Wall”.
