Dr. A found his true calling in life as an exceptional engineer, teacher, and mentor. His colorful teaching lessons will be carried on throughout my career, and I’m certain his legacy will be carried on in the lives and careers of countless others also. We were all truly blessed for having him touch our lives.John Paul Finerson
Thank you dear neighbours!
I’d like to join Dr. Gonzalez, our former Dean at the University of Texas RGV in praising Jerry’s philanthropic and giving nature. I had the pleasure of meeting him and his lovely wife Kathy when he came to help our Civil Engineering program grow into a full Dept. at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. His door was always open to provide advise and encouragement to our students and guidance, leadership and support to us, his faculty. As Miguel already stated, he was all about helping others first, and therefore I know he will be sorely missed, but I am also totally sure he is already in a better place, and from there he will keep lending us all a hand, particularly his esteemed family, children and beloved wife, his friends, associates and the faculty and students who like me, were lucky enough to have met such a great human being!Sincerely,Jorge Vidal, faculty/ Civil Engineering Dept. University of Texas Rio Grande Valley
Kathy and Family: We are saddened to hear of Dr. Jerry’s passing. Please accept our most sincere condolences and prayers of comfort during this time of sorrow. May you and your family be blessed with God’s help. We only met you the once Kathy, but I often thought of you, but so sorry I never got a chance to have you over for a visit here at Monte Cristo Country Club. Healing Hugs to you and your family. Paul and Joan Regan, Edinburg, Texas
Jerry was the most beloved faculty in the CE Department at UTRGV. He cared deeply for the students and it showed every day he was here. Whenever he met a student, he was always the first to greet him/her. Even at the last moment before leaving UTRGV, I saw him gave advice to a student. We all owe him for his endless contributions to the Department. My deepest sympathies go out to him and his family.

Dear Kathy and Anderson family, Please receive our deepest sympathy and be reassured in that he is in a much better place now. Sincerely, Jorge & Maria Elena Vidal Edinburg, Texas
I will miss Dr. Anderson. He gave me opportunities teaching a undergraduate lab and grading homework I’m not sure I’d had otherwise. He was a good advisor during the tough times. And he was a professor that liked to hang with the students – which brings back lots of smiles. He was a friend in later years. It was great to see his faith grow. His regard and responsibility for doing the right thing only got stronger. I’ll miss him.
