Jerry was such a special friend and mentor. We met working on a project for the University of Memphis together. After the project ended, we became riding buddies. He rode his beautiful gelding, Indio, and me on his mare, Sassy (who I think was actually Ken’s horse). What joyous times we had! We rode with Paso Fino groups, friends of his from near Huntington, and local friends. I treasure the time we shared, the horsemanship he taught me, and the memories. Carol and family, you are in my heart and constant prayers! The Lord bless you, and keep you; The Lord make His face shine on you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance on you, And give you His peace. Jerry was a very important part of Terrie and me being active members at Germantown church of Christ. I began to attend there before I married Terrie in November 1997, and Jerry was always so welcoming and so concerned about not only my professional career but also about my life as a Christian. After my marriage to Terrie, Jerry and Carol were wonderful examples about how to be happily married, how to be active in the church, and how to be effective ambassadors for Christ in whatever we do. I will miss asking Jerry about his horses and seeing the passion and love he exhibited while discussing what he was doing to take care of them. We loved talking about Carroll County since I grew up in Huntingdon and he grew up in McKenzie and both of us have strong ties to hat wonderful county to this day. He was so proud of his nephews Lee and Walter, both of whom I deeply respect and know very well. We always kept up with Miss Sara, his dear sister and a lifelong friend of mine and my parents. I cannot recall all the long conversations I had with him after church services, especially on Sunday nights. I will miss those greatly. I am assured that he is now in heaven, rejoicing with my parents John C. and Polly Hall and with Terrie’s parents Bobby and Ann Green and so many other saints. He has fought the good fight, he has kept the faith, and he is going on to his rich reward.Terrie and I are in Houston, TX, tonight (Friday, 12 Feb) on our way to a long-scheduled vacation in Cabo san Lucas. I hate that we will not physically be there to visit with Carol and the family at this time. However, Terrie and I are most definitely there in spirit. That is the beauty of being Christians: we know that wherever we are, that our dear Lord is with us.Terrie and I will miss our dear friend, our wonderful elder, and our great example. We love you all!Cameron Hall
